We have been waiting for breakfast for 55 min with only a glass of water and the wait staff has never come back and checked with us. I really can't rate the food here because they are not bring it. Go one block west to Mary Ellen's place, great food and service. Highly recommend Mary Ellen's and not, I repeat, NOT Turkeys! July 5th

Went there for dinner. Ordered a cheese bread appetizer. Waited 50 minutes, still no food. Ordered a bud beer during that time .. No beer after 30 minutes. Would have inquired and/or complained, but waitress never came to check on us or inform of us delay on such a " complicated" order. Finally just decided to leave .. No one there cared one bit. Walked down the street to Bar Harbor for great food and great service. We come here fairly often, but had never gone to turkey's. Guarantee we will never ever try this place again..

Food is good but the service was surly. Mom was scolded for daring to ask for french fries and cole slaw when the small print on the menu clearly said french fries OR cole slaw. A shame that one grumpy young woman can spoil the whole experience of what would otherwise be a cute, informal place to eat.

I really love the turkey sandwiches here, and the pizza is very good. The service is pretty slow; it's recommended to call in your order ahead of time. The prices are a little on the high side for what you get on your plate.

Bad food and service. I had the turkey club which had old meat and was very dry. The pizza was burnt and they missed some of the toppings. The bartender was grumpy and didn't have any of the beers they advertised above the bar. The price of the food is crazy high for the food and service you get. Don't waste your time just because it is in Harbor Springs.

Food is good. Service was decent. Not handicap accessible however.

  • Mary B.

Very friendly, fast service. I had the turkey club with real turkey breast, not the processed stuff. Nice place in a quaint town. It was recommended by a local.

Just had lunch here with three young children. We waited 50 minutes for two mini pizzas and one small pizza. I had a burger and we had 2 Sprites all for $49.50 before tip. My burger arrived and was finished long before pizzas arrived (I asked permission to eat burger while still warm). When we first arrived, only one other table was occupied. No excuse for long wait and high cost for mediocre pizza.

We go to Turkey's every time we are up in HS. It is a must! The restaurant itself is small with a line of wooden booths. There is a bar area as well (yes, they serve beer!) The menu features different types of speciality pizzas (greek, taco, bbq chicken, etc). You can't go wrong with any of them. Every pizza I've tried there has been SO yummy! One small complaint I have is their hours of operation. They close between lunch and dinner (2:30-4:30). There are still people sitting there eating and if you try and walk in for a late lunch (because we all don't eat at noon everyday) they will tell you that they are closed. I don't get it. Are you saving that much by "closing" when there are still customers in the restaurant during those two hours? Well, either way, it's always worth the wait for them to "reopen" at 4:30 to get my Turkey's fix.

Pizza was ok, but we had to wait 45 minutes for it! They forgot our order... So after all it was not worth the $60 we spent on pizza!

  • Matthew M.

Terrible service, long wait and below average food.

  • Adolfo N.

Great for small groups to share a couple of dishes, the pizzas rock, and they have a decent beer selection for a small place. Delicious fries and the sandwiches are good also. You need a calendar to figure out what you can order sometimes, but the staff is nice and will point it out to you. Not much I didn't love on the menu, nor did any of my hungry crew.

My family ordered 2 medium pizzas, one meat and one veggie, for pick up. When we got there, it took awhile for anyone to acknowledge us until finally some nice lady eating at the bar told us to go to the cash register in the back. We got our pizzas that were nice and hot but they cost $46!!!! After a tip, these pizzas cost $50!! We had high hopes that they would be worth the money but sadly, they were mediocre. They tasted pretty average and had the basic veggies (mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, tomatoes). About 3 hours after dinner, I didn't feel great. I thought this was a fluke, but then I ate the leftovers and same problem! I will not be back.

Pizza and beer, never fear! Anything else...well, stick with pizza and beer.

Good food marginal service. The pizza was very good. Great flavor good crust very nice. Sandwiches looked good. Most of the servers seemed nice. We got the exception. But still a great place for lunch.

Delicious pizza (crust is crispy on the outside and cosy bread-like on the inside); this is what you want all nice family pizza to be like, but I find it rarely is. Excellent, warm, friendly service. If you're in Harbor, you simply can't miss this restaurant -- it's a classic. When they deliver, the pizza arrives burn-your-mouth hot.

Mixed bag. Pros: Very good pizza. Nice crust. Good cheese/sauce balance. High quality toppings (including fresh, not canned mushrooms). Nice atmosphere. And friendly service. Cons: Unwashed lettuce. Slow service. Bad service. Big groups come and hog the service. Dirty bathrooms and floors. Come for the pizza and expect nothing else.

Open year round which is a major plus in this area. Have the calzone which is roughly the size of yer head....mmmm. Darling interior, a bit pricey for a family of four or more but portions are ginormous. Consider sharing. Street parking although public lot close by

Great food, awesome atmosphere. Love the addition of the outdoor dining patio. Personally, I always order the Zapper pizza, but you really can't go wrong here. They do deliver, but Turkeys is a great place to dine in too. A local business well worth supporting!! (save room for the ice cream!)

Cool little place in Harbor Springs. Went there for a late lunch. My wife & daughter had cheeseburgers which they said were pretty good. I had the Italian Zapper. I thought it was really good. Service was pretty quick and our meals came out in a timely manner. Next time we'll have to try the pizza.

Love this place but wish it's hours were held true. We have gone many times for their great food only to find them closed. I give them a 5 star for food, but lower for consistency in hours of operation.

Turkey's was sadly a huge disappointment. I went here for breakfast with a few girlfriends on a Sunday morning and we all ordered basically the same thing - the veggie eggs Benedict - and every order was wrong when it came out (about 45 min after we ordered). Half of the orders were cold, one order finally came 15 min after the other 3 arrived, and one order was very overcooked with no veggies and double meat. Our server explained that the cook was new, thus why our orders were so messed up, but didn't offer to take anything off the bill or bring us new food. We had to remind her the meals came with potatoes (which wasn't brought out as part of the meal), to which she laughed and said "guess you'll be eatin potatoes for dessert!" We weren't really in a laughing mood at that point so the joke wasn't appreciated. We definitely will not be returning which is a bummer, since it's a really cute little spot.

Best food, best staff, greatest people and sweetest location on Main St. in Harbor Sprigns. Dine inside or out, in the winter or the summer and while they may be busy, you're going to love your home-cooked meal here! If only I could afford to eat here every night!

  • jennifer d.

What a disappointment this was. All we had was a take out pizza that we brought down to a lakeside picnic table. It was not good at all. The sauce was a little sweet and heavily spiced with Italian oregano. The crust reminded me of cafeteria pizza. The staff was friendly and the salads looked good coming out of the kitchen, but I would definitely not recommend the pizza.

    (1)
  • J. L.

Great pizza crust and fresh ingredients. Agree with some comments that they can have spotty service when they are slow in off-season. But when the place is busy in the summer, they get more consistent. See "Aeg S" comments for an accurate review

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place-- btw, this is the ONLY decent pizza place in all of Harbor Springs or Petoskey. All of the other pizza places are totally gross. Turkey's has the best- try the Mediterranean Pizza- it's awesome.

  • Thomas M.

Great pizza and sandwiches. Breakfast is good too. I've always had good service but the place is small and if it's busy I just order a beer and relax until the food is ready. If you want to support a local business that is not a chain I highly recommend Turkey's!

We are back and nothing has changed. Management has a bad attitude. They have a great location and survive well on that. As a new local resident I choose to pass on this restaurant.

If you like expensive, mediocre food, this is the place for you! $46 for a large and a medium one topping pizza. There are much better choices just outside of town that have much better service and food.

Our family of 5 stopped in for lunch last week. Both the service and food quality was very good. No complaints here. We ordered two pizzas and a sandwich. Hot and tasty.

Comfortable little establishment with friendly employees. Pizza delicious and the zapper sub (Italian) is really good.

I'm surprised to read any negative reviews of this amazing place. I love their pizza and their veggie burger/olive burger. The food is really good, and the service has always been decent. If I could afford to eat out more I would probably eat here once a week. I really like taking my wife and little one here, and I enjoy the environment and food. One of the better places to eat in Northern Michigan.

Turkeys is one of the few lunch with servers left in town these days which probably attests to why it was so slammed the last time I dined there. Still pretty basic but definitely as good. They have a nice selection of well priced craft beer bottles and two local crafts on tap as well. They were definitely understaffed the day we dined which is why I am rating them only 3 stars

  • Tom R.

Sloooooooooooooow service usually. Luckily the food is good otherwise I wouldn't go back. Just expect to wait. Don't be in a rush.

Great Pizza, good service, cute spot, recommend checking it out! Surprised by some of the negative comments! Stopped as we were passing through, would certainly stop again if back in the area

Service was very good. Pizza was okay, but nothing spectacular. Obviously the owner is doing something right, as this place has been here 40 yrs!

My daughter and I stopped by this past week and shared a cheeseburger at the outside seating area. Really, really good burger. Last night we ordered takeout pizza...the pizza was good but two mediums cost $40. A little too pricey for what we got.

  • Doug B.

We went in on a Sunday afternoon. We didn't realize it, but we had the pizza the previous day when some friends had picked it up. It was a late lunch and they were out of pizza. Only enough turkey left for one sandwich. Moral of the story - get there well before the end of lunch if you want all your choices to be there. Some of our selections included Chicken Cherry Salad, Greek Salad, Grilled Cheese. Everyone was happy with what they got.

  • Kolton J.

We had waited for over 30 minutes just for the waitress to take our order, then another hour and 45 minutes to get or food, and another 20 to receive our bill. The food was sub par and our waitress never asked how our food tasted. We would've respected the wait if it was busy but there were only 2 tables including us. If you are going to turkey's be prepared for a long wait, not so great food, an expensive bill, an horrible service P.S. Try and don't have either of the twin waitresses they are mean and lazy!

Turkeys pizzeria, cafe, and pub stands on the utmost tier of reliability and excellence. Whether you seek a quaint family dining experience, a solid burger and beer, or an expertly crafted pizza (with all fresh ingredients), you will not be dissapointed. The service is impeccable and there is always a friendly face around every corner. Top notch dining experience.

My husband and I got to the Harbor Springs area later in the evening and we were looking for a casual place to eat. We were tired from driving and it was about 8:00 p.m. and not dressed fancy enough to go to other places in the town to eat. We saw a pizza place (Turkey's Cafe & Pizzeria) that looked promising. They had an outdoor seating area and it looked busy. We walked in and no one greeted us and there were no signs that indicated to seat yourself or wait to be seated. There was a bar, couple of tables inside as well as a few booths. Pretty busy for 8:00 p.m. and it was a Friday night. We then went to the back of the restaurant where there was a register and the ovens. We stood there for at least 10 minutes and not one person acknowledged us during this time. There were servers going past us and working on the register. We were tempted to leave because we didn't know what was expected of us to do. Then one of the servers asked us if we have been helped yet and we said no. She then noted it is seat yourself. So we grabbed a booth and got the same girl as our server. We decided on the "Hot & Sweet" pizza and got the medium size. It seemed it took a good while for us to get our pizza and by around 8:40 p.m. or so the placed seemed to wind down. We didn't realize that they closed at 9:30 p.m., but then we realized pretty much all of Harbor Springs closes down at 9:00 p.m. The pizza itself was good and the two of us finished it off easily, the price though, eh, a bit steep for me. The service could improve, as well as notification of seating yourself. The food was decent/good, but nothing spectacular.

Higher prices, good pizza, smaller portions, Friendly staff. Split a sandwich w fries, mini pizza, one soft drink. $25 bucks not including 3 dollar tip. The fountain coke was perfect. If they served Pepsi it would have been a two star review.

Yummers! This place is amazing. Adorable space, incredible staff, friendly and wonderful owner. What a great place they've created for the community. Pro tip: try the turkarita

Love the food. Very very good. The wait? We waited over an hour for our food. We weren't in a hurry thankfully, but it wasn't crowded and no management came to apologize for the wait ever.

Amazingly unprepared to handle a lunch crowd on July 3rd. Waitress had no idea what was going on, took our order twice, and told us pizza wasn't available yet despite watching other tables eating pizza.

Walked in to Turkey's today with my family for lunch. Upon entering the restaurant we observed the Please Seat Yourself sign and sat down. After seating ourselves in a booth (there were four of us, including my father who has difficulty walking) one of the restaurant's servers approached us and explained to us that "you are going to have to leave this booth in case a larger party comes in" and pointed to a table in the back of the restaurant. The booth we were seated at and were subsequently asked to vacate could not have sat a large party comfortably and there were only two other parties at the restaurant at the time. We were hardly taking up important real estate during a rush. We left Turkey's due to the rude treatment. Upon leaving, our server added "that's too bad but that's our policy". As we headed to the door, another server stopped us and let us know that "even if you wouldn't have gotten up, we would have had you to leave if a large party came in". Of note, the Saturday prior we ordered two large pizzas for a carry out. They were terrible, dry and tasted like cardboard despite the $40+ price tag. Suggestion - if signage directs patrons to please seat yourself let customers seat themselves, train your rude millennial help to be polite to diners and respectful to older people, don't abdicate managing your business to teenagers, and make better pizza.

Very good pizza, the crust makes it all worthwhile, a little pricey, but not your average pizza.

  • Brenda R.

See my check in report. Food is good but service is abysmal. Couldn't get coffee refills, food was partially delivered 40+ minutes after ordering.

  • Kristin B.

Turkey's sucks they the slowest restaurant ever. Their waiters suck their is one young waitress that is good and moves fast but there is also a old lady waitress who is the worst if you get stuck in her section you better get comfortable because it will be a while she also has a big attitude. I can't wait until it closes down . You also have to wait a long time to seat because there is only a couple seats not a good idea to come here especially if you are a big group. Their food is average so it's definitely not worth the wait. It is in my best judgement for you not to come here.

    (1)
  • LIsa W.

It is ridiculously poorly managed. I wonder how much money this restaurant would make if they knew how to staff a restaurant adequately. Two waitresses for thirty tables? And they are angry! Customers get an earful of staff frowning and complaining about management too clueless to properly staff the restaurant to turn tables and get food out. Despite the horrendous service the food is great and charming atmosphere- cute patio too. Fire the management and get staff who can smile and be pleasant even when slammed busy- that is a training issue! Turkey sandwich is real turkey- yum! Pizzas look great but would not dream of ordering one or i would sit there at least two hours waiting!! Maybe call ahead for takeout and only go when it is not noon or dinnertime.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
